As an integratively trained counsellor and psychotherapist, I offer my clients a wide range of therapeutic interventions to facilitate their personal empowerment and transformation. Although I have a special interest in end-of-life, grief and loss counselling, I continue to work with a diverse client-base and have many years of clinical experience working with people who are facing anxiety, depression, abuse and relationship issues.
“Suzi has the most amazing ability to connect with you and your situation immediately, and understand what kind of help you need. I have learnt about myself and how to deal with situations more effectively in a short space of time.” – HH, Devon
What is Counselling?
My Counselling Background
I am a Registered Accredited Member of the NCS (National Counselling Society), and started working as a counsellor in both private practice and the voluntary sector after qualifying in 2006.
Since completing my 4 years of training as a Person-Centred counsellor, I have continued to expand my knowledge and experience through regular and ongoing professional development and certification. I now follow a pluralistic approach to counselling and psychotherapy, drawing on a number of different modalities, including:
- EFT (Tapping)
- NLP
- Mindfulness meditation
- Breathwork
- Trauma-informed movement
- Sound therapy
- Mindfulness-based CBT
- Solution-focused life coaching
- Grief and loss counselling.
This therapeutic fusion facilitates a multi-faceted approach to the cognitive, emotional or physiological dissonance that my clients may be experiencing.
What I offer…
- A professional, confidential and relaxed therapeutic environment
- A safe space to explore your issues at your own pace, without being judged or directed
- A space where you can discover more about yourself and your difficulties, gain insights, make connections and find solutions.
As your counsellor, it is my privilege to walk alongside you and to offer empathy, acceptance, honesty and respect. I am here to listen and observe, to truly hear you and see you; to help you to gain a deep understanding of your world.
Together we will work through issues that are concerning you, safely exploring, challenging and integrating all aspects of your experience to allow your natural healing tendency – your authentic self – to emerge.
I do not direct you, or offer advice or solutions. I do not seek to lead, diagnose, control, label or blame. I offer a safe, caring and non-judgemental space, one where you are accepted just as you are.
Over the last 12 years, clients have come to me seeking counselling and therapy for a wide range of difficulties, some of which are listed below:
- Abuse
- Depression
- Bereavement

- Low self-esteem
- Post-natal illness

Should any of these, or other issues, arise for you during our end-of-life or grief work sessions, my experience in these areas over the last ten years will enable us to address these concerns in a safe, therapeutic manner.
In accordance with NCS requirements, I am fully insured and receive regular clinical supervision. I also have a current clear DBS check and a current First Aid at Work certificate.
